Very rough and off-model doodle of the SG gang engaging in one very European Earth custom. We in England love Eurovision as much as the continent, though it doesn’t love us.

This picture originally did include Stereo, but I was so unhappy with his lineart that I had to crop him out. That turned out to be a good-ish thing, though: season 1 takes place in America, while season 2 takes place in France (as can be seen in the openings), so the continuity here is more concise.

Thanks to the good people at Miss Dream, I’ve been reading a lot a certain manga lately, and I love the way Naoko Takeuchi (and manga in general I guess) uses double-page spreads. I was inspired to experiment with them myself, even though it was hard to actually draw onto the seam, I knew from the get-go it wouldn’t scan well, and the overall effect isn’t right with the Stereo fail at the top cropped out. So why do I want to try it again at least once?

And remember: only using two colours plus the white of the paper to represent a country’s flag is totally ARTSY, not lazy at all.

As a bonus that’s too bad and too old to put in my scraps, here’s a little sketch from two years ago, when Norway won. (Granville, for those who don't know "that other alien show", is known as "the Norwegian boy.")

I think the Eurovision visuals are interesting. Gah it's so nice seeing you draw Space Goofs, I haven't watched any in a LONG TIME (as it feels).

I actually think the two-page spread works quite well (and scanned pretty good too; better than my past attempts at doing that, anyway...lol). I like Gorgious's pose, especially, out of all of them...looks very natural.

Aaah yes, Eurovision doesn't love France as well and geographical votes still bother me, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the show every year!
I'm happy this time, because I really liked Azerbaijan's song, though I had a soft spot for Denmark's.

And to see a Space Goofs fanart from you is a bonus for this evening! I love Gorgious here, he's winning the award of the best couch potato! And it's not easy to beat Bud in that field...
