Pameruku Laluku Laliloli Poppun! Non-Space Goofs art, appear!

Gorgious back there may see the end of Autumn as an excuse to mope around, but don't try to tell this birthday girl that November is a miserable month. ;)

That's right folks! Today is the official Toei-sanctioned birthdate of Aiko Senoo, one of the stars of a certain great but relatively underappreciated magical girl anime. I've been in a Doremi-ish mood ever since the fansub group by that name released the second season finale, and I thought that since it corresponded roughly with the birthdays of one of the girls, I figured now would be a good time to start a series of some kind honouring the seven of them - like a little calender of sorts. ESPECIALLY since 2009 marks the 10th anniversary of the first season! :D I'm only sorry I didn't do something special back in February, the anniversary of its premiere :(

Not only that, but my four-disc CD set of the first season's soundtrack arrived a few days ago, just in time for Ai-chan's special day! Thank you so much, ブックベスト on the Japanese Amazon Marketplace! :happycry:

Thirdly, there's no better place to start than with my favourite of the "original three." :) (well, actually, as far as my overall favourite goes, she's tied with Momoko right now. Only once Doremi Fansubs release a significant portion of season 3 will I make my mind up once and for all!)

This drawing was sketched and shaded in pencil, outlined in ballpoint pen and "bluified" in Paint Shop Pro X. I know her arms cross kind of awkwardly, but the alternative was a generic pose with her holding both arms straight out, and there was no way I was resorting to that.

Plus you can kind of pick out the individual leaf where I got bored and started to go sloppy EDIT: ...and OMG you can see the outlines of the leaves on her arm... it looks like something nibbled on it / ANOTHER EDIT: ....and she only has nine fingers..... ^^; But overall, I'm quite happy with it. It came out pretty close to my original mental image, a rarity in my art.

Ignore Mimi. She's enormous (by fairy standards) and her hair looks more like Fafa's.

If you're wondering about the title, it's the meaning of the the "takaraka ni" part of Aiko's Magical Stage incantation (which for some reason is left untranslated in the fansubs).

This is beautiful. I don't know who is depicted, or if it's anyone (sorry didn't read artist's comment), but it's really adorable. c:
